Valentine’s Day is this weekend and you may be wondering where you should go for Valentine’s Day near Woodbridge, Virginia. The great thing about Northern Virginia is that you don’t have to go far to enjoy a really good meal, fun activities and local walks around the parks with your loved one. Today, I’ll tell you about a few of my favorite spots that you can take your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day! So strap in, get your pen and paper, and take some notes on how you can make your loved one’s Valentine’s Day sing this year.
💝 Something Artsy
You don’t have to be a full-blown Picasso to make art, and that’s why I love going to Paint Your Heart Out in Occoquan! This little gem is open for walk-ins, although they do prefer reservations, and is great for a twosome or more!
When you walk in, you’ll be greeted and given a table to set up at. After you take the quick tour, you’ll be allowed to browse the wall of pottery where you can choose among figurines, cups, plates, objects, and dishware. From there, you’ll go to the paint wall and choose your colors. They suggest choosing 4 at a time and coming up later to switch out a color or try some new ones.
Once you’ve completed your artwork, you’ll give them the pieces, and they'll do the final steps of giving it that nice, gorgeous gloss in the kiln. They ask that you give them two weeks to complete their final steps before you come and pick them up!

💞Something Sweaty
You may have to get your mind out of the gutter because the only hot and heavy thing you’re going to be doing is playing laser tag at Team Tactics off of Smoketown Road in Woodbridge!
This facility has three laser tag arenas that are sure to get your blood pumping, and, unlike other laser tag places, this one lets you choose your weapon of choice! From rifles to pistols, you’ll find something you like with that certain someone you love.
They do take walk-ins, and you pay by the mission with packages for 1, 2, or 4 package missions. Want to make a day of it? They have day passes available too!
💋 Something Sweet
Nothing says “You’re the sweetest” like icing-covered sugar cookies! Sugar Cookie Classes holds monthly themed cookie decorating classes that are great for a couple lookin’ for something sweet to do this Valentine’s Day.
Each class includes 6 themed sugar cookies, 4 bags of royal icing, and one and a half hours of hands-on instruction from the cookie decorating pros themselves.
When you arrive, you’ll cover the tools you’ll be using in class and then dive straight into piping practice, where you’ll get some hands-on learning before you start decorating your cookies. After the practice session, you’ll cover the cookies you’ll be decorating in class and discuss a gameplan so you can go into your decorating confidently. After that, it’s cookie decorating time! You’ll spend the majority of class decorating your cookies step by step until the final delicious detail.
Decorating 6 cookies will eat up most of the time, but you'll get the icing and dough recipes sent to your email after class so you can continue the fun at home!

Nothing says love quite like warm bread! That’s why you can sign up for a bread-baking class with Knead and Know in The Plains.
🥖🍞🥐🥨🥪🥯 She hosts classes for beginner bread bakers (those who don’t normally bake bread at home and are just looking for something fun to do); intermediate bakers (bake weekly and are trying to expand their knowledge base), and pro bread bakers (know what you’re doing around the gluten, but want to learn new techniques). From the fundamentals to the delicious pizza crust, there is something for you and your boo to do (and eat).
Each class is hosted on weekends at her home in The Plains and averages about 4 hours per class, so make sure you plan ahead.
🎀 Something Tasty
A wine tasting might be the perfect pairing for a pair to do on Valentine’s Day in NoVa! There are so many wineries, but if you’re trying to stay local, consider the Effingham Manor and Winery in Nokesville down 66.
This adults-only winery features live music, delicious wines and events all year round, and its quiet rooms, full-sized swing, and historic property- you love birds won’t want to leave!
On Friday the 13th, catch the dueling pianos or wait a day and listen to some live music from Scott Stallard on the 14th!
With gorgeous views, delicious sunsets, and tasty wines, you’ll definitely fall in love with this winery.
No matter if it’s going to be a romantic night in or a fun night out, Northern Virginia features so many cool spots that you can catch all year long. I know these are just a few I have listed, but there are places you can horse back ride, go off-roading, float down a river or hike up a mountain all around this area!
